Joan Kariuki Kung'u


 

Joan Kariuki Kung’u is a Research Fellow at African Centre for Technology studies. She has over 8 years experience in multi-disciplinary research on Environment natural resources and sustainable development. Joan was at International Centre for Research in Agroforestry for two years then moved to ACTS in November 2003.

She holds an MA in Development studies with specialty in Environment for Development from University of Nairobi. She also holds Bachelors of Environmental science from Kenyatta University and Diploma in NGO management from Kenya Institute of Management. She has particular interest in policy research for sustainable management of Natural resources. As a research fellow, she is coordinating Kenya’s team research work on Industrial Productivity, Health Sector Performance and Policy Synergies for Inclusive Growth: A Study in Tanzania and Kenya. She is also the East African Coordinator of CLACC fellows. Previously she has served as Regional coordinator for Transboundary water resource Management training Project and also Assistant project manager in Policy Innovation Systems for Clean Energy security Project (PISCES). Her research interests include climate change and natural resource management, water related issues, health, natural resource and conflicts.
